About this listing

This is your one opportunity to stay in this magnificent heritage listed Alcaston House apartment. Beautifully renovated the individual design style oozes personality as it bridges “period of day” classic charm and contemporary interior inspiration. It is complete with air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, Netflix a big flat screen TV in the main bedroom as well as in the living room.

You will be taken aback by the size of this one bedroom apartment with a central living/dining with charming balcony views over the Treasury precinct and a contemporary open plan kitchen with floor to ceiling pantry, dishwasher, compact oven with microwave, stove top and coffee machine. The large bedroom with double glazed windows, built-in robes and stylish appointed central bathroom complete these flawlessly presented spaces. A study/business desk is incorporated in the living area, alongside the 6 seater dining table if work travels bring you here. There is also a hidden washing machine, great for longer stays.

The benefits of the building's shape means the living room receives natural light shining on the original ornamental fireplace as you sit back in the comfy lounge and enjoy being in the heart of the city. Open those large glass doors and stand out on the Juliet balcony to take in the city views including Treasury Gardens, The lights of the MCG and Rod Laver Arena in one direction and the top end of Spring Street in the other.

Please note Alcaston House is not suitable for children 18 months – 5 years of age due to the furnishings not being "toddler friendly".

  • Alcaston House is beautifully equipped and was close to everything we needed to do in Melbourne, Theatre and the Graduation at the Royal Exhibition Building. and visiting friends. The trams and trains are very frequent and easy to follow using the Google maps. Food experiences were great from special Asian food at Secret Kitchen to Lebanese at Abla’s. Shopping down Gertrude street in Fitzroy. was great.

  • Fabulous apartment in a really great location. Loved walking around the gardens in the mornings. Tram stop is right at the front of the building which makes it super easy to get around the city. The apartment is really comfy and full of lovely furnishings. Kitchen is fully kitted out and the pantry is well stocked with essentials like tea, and vegemite. Lots of cafes and restaurants near by to enjoy. Highly recommended to anyone looking to spend a few days exploring the city, going to galleries and catching a show.

  • A wonderful place to stay: beautiful apartment, well furnished and equipped and very comfortable. Fantastic location in terms of transport, coffee, food and other Melbourne amenities: shops, theatres, museums. We’d happily stay there again.

  • Fantastic place to stay. A unique and charming apartment in excellent city location. Generously appointed and very comfortable. Can’t rate it highly enough. We’ve found a new “home away from home”

  • Such a beautiful apartment. Very chic with incredible views. Highly recommended!
