The lounge room is designed for you to relax in after a long day shopping, exploring Degraves street and surrounding attractions. Put your feet up and binge watch the latest Netflix series you have missed. In summer be caressed by the warm breeze of the open Juliette balcony doors in Summer or snuggle up and warm your toes with the luxury of hydronic heating in Winter. The Apartment has Air Conditioning also for the super warm Melbourne days.

True classics never go out of style including the very regal queen four-poster main bed. These beauties date back to the 15th century and encompass tradition and luxury. You will be asking “Will it be noisy staying here?” This bedroom has double glazed windows. You will not believe you are in the heart of Melbourne.

The second bedroom continues the International theme interweaving classic furniture pieces.

The dining area has enough seating for 6 and an impressive ceiling feature above. The kitchen is separated from the dining area by a bar-style bench finished in light and dark timber. It has all the modern necessities needed to self-cater such as pots and pans, essential appliances, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle and the newest model Vertuo Plus Nespresso Coffee machine.

The modern bathroom is accessible through a private robe leading from the second bedroom or through a common entrance in the hallway. Couples can have their privacy ensured with doors on both bathroom entrances. “What all this and a Bath? “ Yes, they are scarce in inner-city living so take advantage of it!

There is also a hidden European laundry with washing machine, dryer and sink.

Key Delivery Service 
We employ an external key delivery service to meet you with your keys on your day of arrival. The key handover time is to be booked directly with them at least 48 hours prior to your check-in. This service is included in your booking and covers arrivals between 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm. If you are arriving between 10:00pm - 12:00am, an additional after-hours fee of $40 will apply. Arrivals after 12:00am will incur an additional $100 after hours fee. 

Supplies

We provide you with a starter pack of essential household items such as toiletries, dishwashing detergent, washing powder, dishcloths, scrubbing brush, paper towels and toilet paper on check-in. You will then need to purchase all necessities for the continuation of your stay.

The historic Majorca Building is in one of the hottest locations in the City of Melbourne. Located on the 3rd floor of the Harry Norris designed Majorca building at the end of the intersection of Flinders Lane and Degraves Street (258 Flinders Lane). Your balcony overlooks the Flinders Lane precinct, the “go to place” for coffee drinkers, foodies, art lovers, wine lovers and shoppers. Forget the car, you will never even think about driving with everything enviously within a short stroll.

  • Bourke St Mall. Major shopping st with Myer, H&M, Top Shop and Zara: 500m, 5 min walk

Staying 9+ nights? We include compulsory interim housekeeping. Additional cleans can be provided on request. Staying between 3 and 8 nights? Let our housekeeping team provide you with a fresh, clean apartment! Price will be advised on request.

Security Deposit and Guest Information
Please note we will deduct $500 from your credit card 10 days prior to your arrival. This will then be returned upon inspection of the property after your departure.

If we need to make a claim against your security deposit it covers an amount up to $1000, which may include but is not limited to the following:

Excess cleaning fees, Excess laundering fees (inc. sleeping directly on to doonas, pillows, mattresses), Dirty BBQ, Excess garbage removal, Damage or breakages at the property, Loss of keys or scanners and Late check-out.

Our rates are based on twin share. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed in advance. Please include all adults and children in your enquiry. If you have babies please advise their ages also.

Please note the property cannot accept guests under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a minimum of 2 adults, over the age of 25, present the whole stay. If this rule is breached, your security deposit will be forfeited and you may be evicted at any stage.

A Heritage Victoria database entry for Majorca House, says: "The Moorish influence in its terracotta facade places it firmly within the Melbourne tradition of exotic architecture in the late 1920s."

This landmark on the city scene is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture our city has. When you next walk along Degraves Street or Flinders Lane stop and have a peek at the Majorca Building, everything about it is decadent and harks back to art deco and luxury. The facade on the outside is blue and gold with gorgeous details like the twisted gold columns that run up and down next to the windows. The entryway is mainly dark wood that has been twisted and styled to look like a boutique entrance and the golden light behind the windows shines through and eliminated the whole entryway beautifully at night. The Majorca building has mainly residential apartments for some of the luckiest people in Melbourne. They not only have a beautiful piece of architecture to call home, but all the great cafes and stores on the ground level are their local shops.

Construction in Melbourne CBD - Metro Tunnel Works

Works are underway to deliver two new underground stations in Melbourne's CBD at each end of Swanston Street. As a part of this project, there are various changes to pedestrian access, roads and existing transport options.

From September 1st 2019, eastbound lanes on Flinders Street are closed between Elizabeth and Swanston streets until 2022 as part of these works.
